Packet Radio<< PRIOR Introduction to Slovenian PacketOur EI packet is 1200 baud, for over ten years in Slovenia they use 38.4K packet on 2m and 70cm, about ten years ago they started introducing 1200Kbps = 1.2Megabps packet on 23cm! So over a decade ago they had packet FORTY times faster than ours, practically dialup speed, and for nearly TEN years packet running at 1000 times our EI packet. In fact due to the way the Irish Network is connected you will get less than 600 or even 300 bps if doing multiple hops on packet. If two users are on our system can drop in speed per user to less than 50 bps.
